TBI Problem
Does anyone know how to adjust a throttle body? My 92 RS smells ALOT like gas when its running and after it shuts off. I believe its the air/fuel mixture. Anyone know how to adjust it? Or anyone with a similar problem know what it is? Thanks.
You are tackling this problem the wrong way...
Smells like gas? Are your cats in place? Are they functioning properly? Do you have any exhaust leaks? Is your gas filler neck in good shape? Is your gas cap working properly? Do you hear pressure bleeding off when you pop the cap?
I highly doubt it is related to the TBI, especially since you are smelling it after it's turned off.

To your first question, I don't think you have a/f adjustments for your TBI.

Alright, I can check that. Thanks. Also, sometimes it won't start, but if I wait about 30 minutes, it will. Seems like it floods. Do TBI's flood? Also, how can I get a deep throaty, not too exaggerated sound when idling? What should I change or do to the car? Thanks.
Since yours is a 92, you can hook it up to a tech 2 and possibly adjust it that way. The only way you can get a hold of one is either at a school or a dealership. However, you can't adjust the throttle body itself. There are at least 20 different sensors that could be causing it to run rich, even your air temp sensor in the air cleaner, if it's bad then it's telling your ecm that the car is still cold giving it too much gas to warm it up. Does your ses light come on at all? If so, you can short out the a-b terminals and get the codes and look them up. You will see code 12 flash 3 times then your problem codes will flash three times themselves.
