can it be done? a t56 out of a 96' camaro into a 87' Iroc-Z???? i hear all the pedals and crap will work, but will the bellhousing bolt onto a 305 with a 4bolt main? and would the t56 yeild a higher top speed than a t5 or 700r4? also will my rpms go down at cruise speeds?

 

bolts up. But i think you need to use either a different trans brace or relocate the current one..

As for speed, possibly. but not much with a 305. Same with the RPMS..


Side note. unless you mad the mains on your 305 into 4 bolt. its not, its just a 305 2-bolt. If you have seen for yourself that its a 4 bolt, its MOST LIKELY a 350. If you dont know, run the casting numbers on the block.

 

ok so thr T56 will only go on the 4bolt engines? im not sure if mine is 2 bolt or 4, i just assumed it was 4. Also, would the t56 fit on a 400 small block wit a 4bolt?

 

are you talking about the mains being 4 bolts? if so that will have nothing to do with your transmission bolting up. ALL SBC's have the same transmission bolt pattern as far as i know.
