T Top seal removal nightmare.
Last week as I was nearing the end of my bodywork, I started to address some of the rust near the t top seals. Well, I have a set of good, used replacement seals, so I started to rip the old ones out. And that is when my life became complicated. The old seals will NOT come out of the channel. They must be glued in with atomic strength super glue. I have to scrape, pull, chisel, wire wheel and dynamite this stuff out. IS there anything I can soak these seals in to make them come out easier? Anything? I know parts stores sell 'weatherstip adhesive remover', but I have gone so far as to try acetone, and that barely even helps. Ive come so far on this car, I dont want this to be such a set back! HELP!
any adhesive mover should work. just run a lot of slices through the rubber so it can get through it and break the bond. and if all else fails, TORCH IT!!
I bought a 10 dollar can of adhesive remover from NAPA tonight. I pray it works.
Unfortunatly, torching is NOT an option, as I need to keep the paint on the car!!!
