T-Top created a fire!!
It got so hot out that it started a fire in my car, luckily it went out by itself. I just came out the the car and noticed these marks!!

I'm going to get darker tint for them.
Just wanted everyone to watch out this summer! It's 30 year old headliner, so it needs to be replaced. I already got a new visor that has much more life left.
Something must have fell from the top and dripped on the seat. Q_Q

that's scary, but i understand. a month ago, i entered my living room to see what turns out to be a thin line of smoke rising from the dvd player. it turns out the sun entering at full blast from living room window was reflecting on a glass paperweight on the coffee table and hitting the dvd player 5 feet away /melting/burning it. Suffice to say we have removed all times that cause a similar reaction and keep curtains closed when not at home....stuff can get crazy!

There has to be a defect in the glass causing it to focus light. Figure there is millions of those 3rd gens all over the place for the last almost 2 decades and this is the first time I have seen this.
The only things I can think up of is
1) it is 30 year old headliner
2) it's pretty much cardboard wrapped in cloth and over the years, a bit of the cardboard is showing aND maybe the cardboard was exposed to long durations of heat causing a fire.
3) it has been a long time since I parked it in that exact position, the position was the sun rose directly on the back end of the car and fell directly down the hood,
So at the suns highest point it was aiming right at this burn spot,
4) I had just finished tinting the driver side window so I had it rolled all the way up and I did it at like 7 am, so the window was up all day, but I took the t top off of the driver side so it could breath and I also left the passenger window open, even with this, it still heated through my passenger t top window

Maybe i should not have cleaned it, it would have been darker
