ok when i put this motor in my grey 1 it sounded like this--

nothing else was touched. it sounded the same b4 i took the egr off. is it suppose to make that big of a differnce?

no, it shouldnt make any difference in sound at all. the egr is only supposed to function while the engine is under load. im currently experiencing egr issues on my blazer where it is stuck partially open, and my idle lopes like that. it sound wicked, but it shouldnt sound like that. im thinking the timing might be advanced too far, it sounds like its trying to burp out of the carb. something is off other than jus the egr

yes, does sound like a misfire as well. check to make sure you have all the plugs wires on the right cylinders. ive done that before, and i know of someone who thought their engine was about to blow up because he had 4 plug wires that were on the wrong cylinders

i hooked up my air/fuel guage and it says its running rich. but see thats wut doesnt make sense, cuz all i did was block off the egr port on the manifold. and didnt touch nothing else. would it sound like that if it had a cam? cuz i was thinking that when the egr was on it was a big vaccum leak and made it run high like that. and blocking it off would solve that vaccum leak. right?
