Still Problems Starting
Back with the 92 Z28 305
If the car heats up, security light stays on, car won't start.
I found the orange jacket with two thin wires inside supposedly leading to the VATS module. The wires have been clipped, therefore the VATS system has been bypassed with a resistor somewhere.
Problem is, I can't find where it has been bypassed. I think the bypass is what's causing the problem.
Does anyone know where the VATS module is?
And, by the way, why is everything in my American muscle car METRIC?

The pass key module is near the computer above the foot well on the passenger side.
The metric system is easier to remember than fractions???? (3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8... 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm......)
Hey at least we don't use the Swed's system. They got thier own and it aint metric and it aint standard.

RE: Still Problems Starting
Thanks but
I found the bypass last night. It was staring at me the whole time I searched for other wires. They actually took a key and pulled out the pellet and soldered it directly to the wires, then into a black clip. The wire connections in the clip were loose and corroded, so we cut them off entirely. We'll see if it works next time it gets hot (which shouldn't be long here in Houston).
Thanks for the help.
