starts without the key?

Default starts without the key?

just discovered my car starts without the key. whats the deal?
theres no broken key inside and the key fits in perfectly.

Cylinder may be worn or the tumblers are sticky. Spray a little lube in there and see if it frees them up.

My buddies firebird does that, I think he said somthing about having toreplace the ignition switch.. I'm not sure about it though

Ive known several older cars that do that. Just lock cylinder gremlins, thats all. I used to be able to take the key right out of my old Sunbird and she would still run. Try spraying is as someone posted. If that doeasnt work, amaze your friends with your ninja finger lockpicking skills.

Lol. sometimes I can take the key outta my Camaro while it is running and it will stay running... Does this mean that I might run into this problem soon too?
