I have a 1992 rs camaro 305 engine .the problem is i just put a starter in it, I turn the key and all it dose is spin it wonk engage the flywheel . i went to the part store and told them my problem and they said i need a starter gauge. what the heck is that never heard of it . what is it and were do i get one + how do i use it . in the old days you just R+R 2 bolts and your good to go.

Perhaps its the wrong starter, sounds like it isnt engaging the flywheel because its too far form it. does it have the teeth/gear? Sometimes you have to make sure they are there.
