Default speedo helppp

my cars speedo is electronic but i dont know why it doesnt work unless the car is warmed up could it be the guage? or is the the wires leading from trans to speedo??

yes could be either. check ground straps under the dash. there ussually around the column. check for tightness and condition of wires at conector to wire area.

Be more specific. As it sounds, the gauge doesnt work until after the engine has run for a while???

yea the speedo just stays at zero and doesnt start moving untill the engine gets between 100 and 220 degrees would that be a ground?

and id check the ground straps but its kinda dark since its dark at 5 O'CLOCK!

one of a kind probem. lol. so have u cleaned all your grounds? battery, junction box? make sure your motor strap ground wire is not broken. i thinkin the speedo unit may be a gremlin home. lol.

ive checked everything ive even been kicking and puching the dash thinking it will work but still no luck and with no money i cant go out and replacing parts that may be it cause im poor making minimum wage dam economy!

I'm thinking it might be the speed sensor on the transmission is bad. As the engine warms up, so does the trans. Logically, that's the only speedo related thing that's subjected to heat. Have you checked the wire connection at the trans too?

no cause theres snow here and i dont feel like getting wet (yup very lazy and no garage) maybe ill just sell and build my mustang??
