So about what am I looking at here?
I didn't see an appraisal section, so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area. I am 21 years old and just got a job offer for a full time job about 2 hours away from my parent's house, where I'm currently living. I will not be commuting and I am going to look at apartments there soon. I currently have my mom's 2003 hyundai accident which has almost 180K miles on it as my primary commuting car and my 88 iroc as more of a fun car. However, I will not be able to pay for insurance on both cars, so I am making the very hard decision and selling the camaro to save up for possibly a new one. However, I have no idea what it is worth the way it is now. It is black with gold trim and the previous owner painted a sort of metal flake over it with a clear coat. The doors are pretty much just bondo and the passenger side is cracking and dented in, as well as some of the front fender. The facia is in really rough condition and the plastic is missing from the top inside of the car. Those are the negatives, but it does have a Jasper Ls1 and tranny that have about 3,500 miles on them, Flowmaster exhaust, pretty new tires, t-tops in great condition, new weatherstripping everywhere, and a jvc stereo with 2 pioneer speakers and a tube that is not currently hooked up. Around how much would you ask for it?

No more than 1500 to about 1800, thats being nice. The body sounds like its a mess. Sorry to be so blunt. The market sucks right now. I just sold my 82 (everything NEW, fresh paint, performance everything) for 3500....people just arent paying for toys anymore, and yours sound like its on the rough end of, well, rough.
I would agree with the above poster, but am curious as to why you can't afford the insurance. If you only carry liability, haven't been a wreck with your credit, and are a low risk insuree, that car couldn't go for more than 200 every six months....Have you called for quotes. I just hate to see people sell (or in this case just about give away) a car because of insurance, then come to find out it really wasn't that expensive to begin with.
needs and wants
it seems that right now the needs outweigh the wants
if it were me, I'd post a parting out classified on thirdgen.org to test the waters to see what you could get by parting out the camaro
the engine/tranny/computer/harness is probably worth more as parts than your vehicle if sold as-is
