Default security system resistor?

ok i was told the keys for our cars have resistors in thhem and i can cut the orange wires under the dash and wire in a corresponding resistor.i would like any and all information i can get on how to tell what resistor ill need to buy.

im tired of my car security system kicking in. as the setup was bypassed with a second ignition out of a cadilac and the second ignition sits under the dash and the key falls out alot. especially on bumps or when you bump/kick the bottom of the dash by accident.

i want to wire in the resistor but also have a switch like a sort of kill switch and i want to put it up under the ashtry whe most people would not look to find a killswitch

I know that is where I am going to look now.

Just use an ohm meter on both sides or the pelet in the key and measure its resitance.
