Lightbulb Secret starting system help

Get right to the point. My 87 z28 has a random fuse right by the battery that is drawing a few amps with the ignition all off, therefore the battery drains over night with that fuse in, and with the fuse out, the car dosent start for some reason. Well for the life of me i cant figure out where that fuse's load is, so i thought, if i run an extension from the fuse at the battery into the cab, under the drivers seat, and attach a switch to it, i can just switch the circuit on and off at will, everytime i need to drive the car and when i dont need to i just shut it off. (works as a pretty darn good security system too)

So my question is is there an easy way to run wire from the engine bay to the interior? Any tricks or methods? Thanks!

I would be more curious to trace that wire and see what someone may have cobbled together. They may have been having problems with the ignition switch, or something else, and now giving the ignition system juice all the time. Is that fused wire at the battery a factory wire, or was it added? Maybe you can trace that wire to inside the car. Or is it possible that's part of an aftermarket alarm?

Yeah its a new wire added. I kind of dont really care where its going as its only drawing like 1.5amps. Plus i really wanna do this switch thing. No1 could ever steal my car. ever.

^ Except for us, because we know!
If you can trace that wire inside, use it then for your not so secret switch.

I think it would be a better idea to fix the problem, but you may find some unused holes in the fire wall or drill your own. Make sure to use an appropriate grommet to seal the hole and to prevent the wire from getting cut on the raw metal and winding up with additional electrical problems.
As for keeping your car from being stolen, there is no way from preventing a tow truck with a flat bed from hauling it away.

looking at my firewall, there are no extra holes. i drilled one above my brake pedal to run to my guages. you could try to run into the ecm/radio antenna grommet on the passenger side, but it wont be easy to do with the engine in

Sorry....add the switch in the ign wire...and no not under the seat or dash. Every thief in the world knows to look under there if they have any issues stealing the car.

use the existing wire to pull the new one. That is if it leads to the cab :-)

good luck
