Ok so I have a 91 rally sport with the 6cyl. It will start up but run realy rough and at very low power, so if I hold the gas down it will stay running, as soon as I lift off of it it shuts off.

Also when I hold the gas down the car will start to pick up, but then will shut down immedatly. If I start it up it starts right up again but does the same thing.

Aklso there is a real big fuel smeel.

Any ideas.

 

When was the last time you did any kind of tune up? Maybe cat plugged. Maybe bad injector. In sequential fuel injection one goes bad and it stops the others from working.
Any service engine light? Checked for codes?

 

The service engine light is on, I have not yet checked for codes it just started happening today. Im planning on reading it.
