Default running hottttt

85 z-28 305 HO carbureted it runs hot when the rpm's are up at idle it goes back down.
I have replaced the
radiator
hoses
cap
water pump
thermostat 195
head gaskets
had the heads magnafluxed no cracks
timing is right
eletric fan is hard wired on all the time
added a manual gage
please HELP ME

Is the air dam still under the car? Sounds like you are not getting enough air flow threw the radiator when driving, a missing or broken air dam will cause this.

It has one it is like 3" down and it gets hot fast

Hmmm sounds like an air flow problem to me, make sure all the parts to the air dam are there, there is the lip that hangs down and another peice that goes under the radiator and forms a kind of seal so that all the air is directed threw the radiator. Also try a 160* t-stat. Your fan is on the engine side of the radiator and set up as a puller right?

it gets hot in the driveway in about1 min. if i hold it at 2000rpm s
i just changed the 160 out also i live in hot AZ

sounds stupid, but did you make sure you mixed the antifreeze right? also did you check for leaks? maybe the system is low

OK before it sounded like it was ok unliess you drove it, check the fan as I said and make sure you have a fan shrowd too.

no leaks have 40 degree split from inlet to outlet
it is eleclric [spelling] fan allways on

if you havent tried try and use dexcool orange, i put a 160 thermo and dexcool orange in mine and it made a big temp difference.
