Default is this a respectable time?

i ran a 15.2 @ 87 mph on a odometer 1/4 mile. 1986 z28 tpi auto with firmer shift bands

conditions: cloudy, moderate humidty, 43*, no burnout, cold pavement.

spun the first 15 feet or so, even on an easy launch. also had the windows down.

mods: no muffler, cut out air boxes, 255/60 tires rear, bosch double platinum plugs, new wires, cap, rotor, a/c and air belts off, descreened MAF, 180* thermostat, tb coolant bypass.

that's very respectable for a TPI5.0 car. there was a 5.7TPI car (bone stock) running 9.8's (1/8th) which is about a 15.2 +/-. , so your running right there with the 5.7 cars

84 carbed 305 with edelbrock egr intake, Edelbrock TES, flowmaster muffler, Accell coil, AH metering rods with a G hanger.
15.5 dial in at the drag strip. Lot of wheel spin (it was a peg leg at the time). I don't remember the speed but It was just down to me and a 69 Chevelle left in the eliminations and he had the same dial in time so there was no handy cap. I was far enough ahead of him before the line I was on the brakes while crossing it and did not break out of my time and beat him. I got me a trophy!

man, im pretty excited now about the upgrades i plan on getting as i know for sure they will get me into mid 14's for sure.

headers, y-pipe, race muffler for a cat, coil, air foil, alum. rad, and some other things (cant remember em), and im thinking a set of short height (14") slicks will get me into low 14's on 2.73 gears.

i havent gotten to a track. im sure i'd run 15 flat on a prepped track. im gonna get a set of track only slicks. theyre meant for imports, because i am using a set of 14" rims from a berlinetta. 8 inch wide slicks, but i think are 22" tall. should effecitvely reduce the gearing, but the back end is gonna sit so low

they would as theyre softer than the tires i have. plus, i dont want to ruin the tires i have by racing and not hooking up, and the constant warm up burnouts. i know id be able to launch harder and hook up, which may shave a tenth or 2 off the et
