You need to get a Steering Wheel Puller. Im sure that any major Autoparts store has a loaner tool program. I just used that carefully and it came off.

harmonic balancer puller also works if you can line the holes up right.....if not, they only cost like 8 dollars at most parts stores.

What do you do if it has the airbag? We want to get rid of ours and get a smaller and lighter steering wheel.

If you are unable to find a steering wheel puller you can usually make one with some spare bolts and some steel strapping.

As far as removing the air bag that is not a good idea for two reasons:

1.) It's illegal.

2.) It is a pain in the *** and could lead to injury.

If you still decide to remove it, I suggest disconnecting the battery before you begin. Best of luck!

Thanks all ur post helped me, I did get the wheel off. Also their is no airbag. Only 1 last question. I unscrewed my turnsignal lever so before I knew how to get the wheel off, now I have to remove the lock plate so I can get back there to replace the screw. Should I use a steering wheel lock plate remover or compressor or does it even matter which?
