My (new) 89 RS 305 w/TBI (Vin E) idles really fast...1500 - 2000K RPM. I would like to check the timing but the sticker that gives the timing/idle specs and process is missing. The car is stock and has the electroninc spark timing (EST) (computer controlled-no vacuum advance). I know that the EST needs to be disconnected to set the timing and where to disconnect it, but I do not know what the timing spec is supose to be. I hooked a timing light up and it read 0 degrees with the EST disconnected. I seem to remember somthing about a -5 ATDC spec but am not sure...Help please,

second issue....the idle. The previous owner replaced the TPS and the idle mixture solinoid, and the TBI (les the injectors) and the computer and chip. I hooked up a vacuum gauge and it read a solid 18". All the hoses were suposed to have been checked for leaks... I am hoping the fast idle issue is the timing, but would appreciate any lessons learned anyone has to offer...
