There is a piece if trim that covers a slit in the headliner where the seat belts go through.

Taking the headliner from one car to another may be a waste of time. What you consider good, may nottransfer over in one piece.

I agree with blackz87 the stock headliners in the third gen's are very brittle. It is better to replace it with an after market one with a plastic backing and its not to expensive i payed 150.00 and did the headliner, sun visors and sail panels and it only took about 2 hours to replace the old one with the new one

It does not hurt to try. I replaced my headliner in my 84 with a used one and also recovered it. Working in a body shop I had to take out a few before. If you are not a knucklehead its not hard to do.

yup i took mine and covered it with some fake leather shxt from the fabric store.
looks way better than gray fuzzy fabric flapping in the wind.
hes right though there are slits in it under the plastic piece.

why would you cut the seatbelt instead of the headliner???

Because he is fixing the headliner. Its the seatbelts that are in the way. [8D]
