A part of the dash is missing from this car and I can't seem to find it anywhere so that I can buy it and put it in... what is this peice called? All I know about it is that it just covers that area and has the z-28/Iroc-Z emblem on it. There's a pic of what I'm talking about below.

From your picture, it looks to me like the only thing you are missing is the badge/emblem. It mounts on the right side, where the small holes are. Here is an example from an 82 Camaro:

So all I need is the emblem? I thought there would be a plastic covering that comes up to be level with the air vents and the emblem went on that.

Not that I'm aware of. None of my 3rd gens hada plastic piece that extendedthe dash to ventsexcept for the emblem that goes where those holes are. You could try ebay or (my favorite) www.classicindustries.com

 

Dash just looks kind of empty to me. But I guess you're right. The holes are there for the emblem to fit into... I guess I just gotta find the stock emblem.

 

I think that pic was just an illusion to you. There is nothing there but an emblem
