I don't understand what you mean by newer hook up.

1990-92 cluster has an electric speedo driven by the VSS on the trans (the newer hookup). 89 and older speedo is cable driven.
His question is if the old style cluster will fit in his dash.

Comparing them on ebay, they look similar, as far as their shape. The issue you'll run into will be with the electrical hookup in the back. The cluster just plugs into the dash housing, the wire harness is mounted to the dash frame. And there will be differences in the cluster's wiring schematic, since yours has an electric speedo and an extra gauge. That's not to say you couldn't retro-fit the old style speedo into your existing cluster. And if in your shoes, that's what I would try, but I can't speak for you. I still have a spare cluster from when I had a 91, and was going to retro aftermarket gauges into the housing, leaving the speedo and tach alone. I sold the car before getting around to do that.

Oh, I thought you had a T350 also. Then why not hook up the speedo back up the way it should be, to a VSS?

If you only changed the engine then that would have no affect on your speedo.
When did the speedo stop working??
Is that the only gauge that does not work?
Did you change transmissions in the car?
