Power Steering Hose not right (91 RS V6)
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a 91 Camaro RS V6 and quickly found the Power Steering Pressure hose has a small hole in it. I went to the local parts store and bought the Powercraft 71422 (listed hose for vehicle) only to find it does not match the hose on my car and it is too short to work. I have been to every parts house and they all have the same hose. I have searched the internet and only found the same thing Please look at the pic and tell me what hose I need. The bottom hose is the one from my car. The top hose is the Powercraft (hose listed for the car). As you can see the pump end is not bent at the correct angles causing the hose to be too short.

When I run into crap like this I make a line with Hose and fittings by Earls. You could either look through the yellow pages for a Hose and fittings type business that makes these kinds of lines and maybe they can pull off your old ends and crimp a new piece of hose on there. Or, There may be a supplier of factory parts. Around here there is Factory Motor Parts. They have genuine parts and are a supplier to the local dealerships. They are only a wholesaler but if you go to a shop and ask for just the part you may be able to get a better one. I used to supply parts that way to my cheap *** customers that did not want to pay my labor

Yep, do what mike said. Find someone that is an aeroquip distributor or something with a crimping machine, just bring them your old hose and they should be able to do you up right. I could possibly get my father to do it (meets the criteria above) but you would have to ship it to him so he can make it correctly, which isnt really worth it.
