Default Potential Z28 Owner... Please Check This Ad Out

Hi guys! I just registered for the site. To give you some background, I've always loved 3rd gen camaros. My first car was a 2004 crown vic that I did some mods to and still have. I also have a 91 bronco. I've been looking to get rid of the crown vic, use my bronco as a daily driver, and buy something sportier for a weekend car. I've looked thoroughly at mustangs, but it seems that they are all either ridiculously priced, or beat to hell. So, I started looking at some 3rd gens. Found this Z28 and talked to the guy yesterday. Says he purchased it, but doesn't have a daily driver and needs something more practical. He said the rebuild on the 305 (now carbed) is around 1500 miles ago, so the motor is barely broken in. The car was just painted, which makes me a little hesitant because who knows what they could have temporarily hid doing shotty body work that will look good for only a few years. Anyway, here's the ad... check it out and give me some feedback. I am going to look at it later today. If it's all legit, it looks like a nice car! I really appreciate your time, and I hope to become a fellow camaro owner soon!!

i traded my toyota supra for my 89 rs. My rs came stock with a 305 roller tapet cam, and a 700r4. I dropped a 350 engine in, and a turbo 350 tranny. I'm not a fan of the 305, but it looks good. All in all camaros are very nice cars, if your looking for power. then i would get something cheaper and drop a 350 in it. If you want something good lookin with a touch of power thats a good rig. Either the options are all there, I personaly would not pay anywhere near 4 thousand though. Just because it is a 305. me two cents do what you will with it.

Looks good in the pictures. But I don't think it is going to make it as a daily driver, A lot of stock parts were removed from that engine compartment. For example: No emissions, A/C, heater (??) for starters and at $4200 good luck.

It looks pretty good, but looks CAN be deceiving (though the engine bay looks fantastic, I must say). The thing that worries me the most is the fact he bored out the 305. I was always under the impression that was NOT a very good idea...

Do you guys even read these posts all the way thru. I say take it for a spin and see what you think. You'll be able to hear if the engine has work done to it. Looks like a nice car in the ad, but you really need to see it up close and DRIVE IT. Who takes an overdrive trans out for a non overdrive in a street car??

Thanks for all the posts guys! Went to look at it, and drove it. Just didn't feel, nor sound quite right. The person selling it didn't have any paper work or specific info on the engine build anyway. I'm still in the marked though, so hopefully find something better.
