I HAVE AN 89 V8 CAMARO I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PEICE IS CALLED THAT GOES FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY???????? I HAVE CONTACTED AUTO STORES AND THEY TELL ME I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT???????? I KNOW ITS A HOSE OR PIPE BUT DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS CALLED ANY INFO WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

That is probably the hose (heat riser) used to feed hot air to the engine during warm up. The air flows inside of a shroud wrapped around the exhaust manifold and gets heated up. There is a valve in the air cleaner that select hot or cold air depending on what the engine needs. Sometimes it gets stuck on hot and you loose a lot of power.
