Take the car in the street, put some water down so you don't tear up the rear so much, give it a bit of a brake-torque, and see if you have one or two racing stripes in the street.

K I'll get right on that. After Friday. AS on Friday Im going to pop that cover off and drain out all the fluid and look for burns on the gears then seal it all up and fill with Royal Purple. Uh Should I get a gasket for that or just some form-a-gasket?

Clean it real well and the black RTV works fine. Do not use something like carb or brake clean. Some of that kind of stuff leaves a residue and the RTV will not seal.

KK Hmm so what should I used to clean it? just take a clean shop rag? Hmm well... This gives me a reason to start my build up. Stange tho as I probably should find out what kind of engine is in my camaro if its strong enough to break stock parts. How would I tell? if I have a 350 and dont know it that would be nice tho I dont think everything would bolt up proporly unless they swaped that in too. Seeing as my title says REBUILT/RESTORED anything could be not stock. FINALY I;ve heard an S10 differential will fit a Camaro, can anyone confirm this so I can go get one for $100 to get my Camaro back on the road if I blew my gears.

Carb cleaner can leave a residue. Brake cleaner doesn't leave a residue, which is why it can be used with brakes. Iuse brake cleaner for everything...almost

I had some brake cleaner that left a residue. But now that I think about it I think it was some citrius based stuff.
If your title says Rebuilt/Restored it may have been a total or some thing or built from salvaged parts.
A S10 diff is the same. Its diff but the same But you have to make sure the axle spline count is the same.
