i have a 1985 camaro base yesterday i went to leave work and started it up and it a made a very low pitch noise than when i tried to go it took off very very slow so when i push on the accelorator it doesnt really want to go it took like two mins to get to 30 and ideas on what this could be?

more info please. is it missing or does the engine rev up but the car doesnt go? what size of motor? any smoke?

 

Does it make the same noise as you're driving, or was it only when you first started the engine?
Any of your gauges (temp, oil, volts) giving strange readings?
Wow, 0-30 in 2 minutes? I think even a Smart Car can take you now!

 

it goes it just goes very slow like im not getting enough fuel into the engine or im not getting enough air in, its a 305, and yes my choke light will flash on and off alot while idling but when the car is in drive it doesnt also the low pitch noise is coming from the exhaust but you cant hear it from under the hood, it makes the noise when i rev it up and when im driving, but when i floor it, it'll sound like it should on the downshift than make the low pitch noise and struggle to go again.

 

Could be:
Cat converter is plugged. Did you happen to notice if it was glowing red?
Your choke isn't opening.
Your air cleaner is clogged.
Your fuel filter(s) is clogged.
All of the above.
