PCV elbow
I noticed this before i bought it,, but the pcv elbow on my 3.1 is torn and is almost in two peices, it is held on by very little rubber at the top of the elbow and you can see where oil has kinda splashed out of the gap and has ran over and down the valve covers. And when i saw it i thought that it was no big deal and that i could go into Orielleys or something and get a new one,,but when i went to oriellys he said that it wasnt showing any in the book, so he told me to go to chevy dealer, with is where i work, so i thought it would be no big deal getting it put on and stuff but, the guy in the parts department told me they no longer even make the tube and elbow that i need,, so, i dont know what to do, there is no junkyards around where i live with camaros. so i was wondering if there was another pcv tube that would fit, because i would rather get a new one. but if you have any info on this, it would be helpful. and does anybody know how this elbow being torn can cause the motor to run,, because mine doesnt run real good and i didnt know if it was because of this or what.

RE: PCV elbow
It may be drawing a whole lot of vacuum. Is it a plastic tube with a rubber elbow? Can you replace it with a rubber hose? I have cheated and used a plastic tube for emissions with a sparkplug boot to attach it to a PCV.

RE: PCV elbow
i just used a 3/8" fuel line on my 350, i dont know if you can do that on your engine due to other problems that may get in the way. But thats what i did and it works out great.

RE: PCV elbow
i figured out what i needed by just looking, obviously the orielleys in my town and the Chevy dealy doesnt know anything because they all told me the part was now longer made or they didnt have it, even after i brought the fitting in. but why'll i was looking at all the hoses and fittings and everything, there it was the exact thing i was looking for, for 3.99
