Default Overheating issues

Ok, here goes. I know somebody that took a 305 from a92Camaro and put into his 89. I was told it should be the same engine, but I am not that familiar with those year models. Anyway, they rebuilt the engine before putting it in, and have had some serious heating problems. They have changed the thermostat, replaced the intake gaskets (which were installed incorrectly at first), the water pump (which they got one for the 92 and made sure it was for a serpentine setup), and have even straight wired the fan to run constantly. The only thing I can think of to try would be a new radiator. I had something in mind like a Be Cool aluminum deal with extra flues, larger tanks, etc. He is thinking about changing thewhole damn engine, but I think thatit would be sort of needless. Any help would be great. Thanks

Well, from what I was told, when the car is going around 35- 40 mph, it does not overheat. But when it is idling it does. I don't think it is pulling enough air, but I am welcome to any and all suggestions.

Is there crap plugging the fins of the radiator or condensor. Like leaves or dead birds.

could be that the cpu is not responding to the newer motor or the wiring to the motor itself is done wrong
