Old Problem Resurfaces
Well I had posted a while back about my car not cranking at all when I turn the key and a few ideas were thrown out such as the security system, bad solenoid, and a few others. Well I replaced the starter and the ignition cylinder and had not had any problems since then... until today.
Me and a buddy are driving around, park and shut off the car, come back five minutes later, try to crank it and I get nothing. I heard a noise coming from the general region of the starter that sounded like it tried to crank, but seized up or something. I would let go of the key, try again, and hear a noise that sounded like it was trying to turn but couldn't. I didn't get a clicking or anything, just complete silence after that. Any ideas of what this could be? I was thinking my starter could seize up from too much heat from the engine and just had to cool down. So I was thinking about getting heat shield for the starter. Any suggestions?
PS: We pushed the car start and it ran fine. It's amanual 1989 Camaro.
