Default RE: oil pump/pressure

No there is no reason for a high volume pump for street use. The satndard volume can have half the oil capacity at the top of the engine. But a high volume does not double that. I was surprised to see that the factory put a high volume pump in my 4.3. But I have seen many times big blocks low 3-4 quarts low( some times more!) And a big block pump is a high volume pump. No failure in any of them. (maybe some failure in the ones really low)
I have also seen problems when priming. Using a drill to weak to turn the pump. A pmp with a standard pressure spring takes a lot to turn. Or priming with the filter on. That traps air and wont prime well.
And a windege tray helps also
