Default no power with swapped in 305

I just finished swapping in a 305 into my 92. old motor was crap. anyways to motor is in now and it runs... had to mess with the timming a bit to get it started but now that it is running.. it feels like it has no power. there are 2 more connector that I need to hook up that go to the tranny but i dont think they have anything to do with this. so car runs with very little power, takes a few seconds to start... any ideas where to start. Im thinking its a timing issue but any recommendations are welcomed.

p.s. I just found out I need to replace the water pump and alternator

thnx in advance

today I hooked up correctly the diverter valve lines and the water lines. also I had missed the air line to the cat. I did notice that I need a new water pump. Maybe that had a part.

I have 2 plugs left off the harness to find a home for.. there are right by the fire wall on the passenger side... I think they are off the tranny..does that make sense ?

on my 84 there are 2 on the side of the motor. one between the last 2 cylinders on the passanger side and another also on the pasanger side on the block down lower.
