Default no power

i have an 85 camaro berlinetta with a 305. I just put another 305 into it. the old one had a cracked block because the it was left out in the cold and it froze before i got the car. Since we have swapped motors the car has no power. when you push the gas the rpm's drop for a few seconds and then they start climbing again. there is no load on the car because it happens in park. the car has been setting for quite a while with a full tank of gas. could this be a problem?

Well would taking off all of the egr be a problem because i eliminated the smog pump and i took all of the egr tubes off of the exhaust manifolds and plugged them w/ some bolts. Also i forgot to mention on the first post about the car running extremely rich. i just replaced the 02 sensor so i dont know whats going on there. any ideas?
