So you could have a crap load (slight exaggeration) of bad stuff going on that you don't know about.

I'm posting this on Case's behalf because he's stuck at work all day. He took Cindy in and found out he has a trouble code of 24, lack of a good speed sensor signal. But it has a speedo cable. Any ideas why that might show up?

Does he have his speedo cable hooked up? If not, he's prolly just creating his own problem since the computer wants to know how fast the car is going.

hm, i read on there that there is a yellow box on the back of the speedo. being that my oem gauge cluster shorted out and could never find it and left it unhooked, that could be the issue for the code. but the manual pin jump should still lock the tcc. im going to try it again sometime when im driving and see what happens

If the Camaro dash is anything like my 86 Cutlass was the speed sensor is actually the rotor in the speedo that has part of it painted white and a LED sensor attached to the back. The LED is IR and when the white painted part comes into view it reads. This was used for the Cruise control and the computer.

ah. well that explains why my cruise wouldnt work after the dash had gone out. i wasnt going to worry about that, but i think i found the root of the issue. i wonder if that will prevent tcc lockup. even when the gauges did work, it didnt lock up. could also had been the wrong converter in it. so many variables
