I don't know? it shows it coming from the alt as a tan/white and then changing to a brown wire going into the fuse block. Since you already did away with most of the computer stuff anyways. Maybe you should look into getting one of those 1-wire altenators. If I can't get my TPI system working right it's probably which route I'm going. I hate tracing electrical problems
Also... You said the battery holds a charge? Have you checked to see if it was charging while running? Or will it just not start after it's warmed up? I had a car that wouldn't start when it warmed up. Acted like the battery was dead. Ended up being the starter solenoid. It had a bad wire from the solenoid to the starter.

after i charged it (12.44 volts) and turned it on the volts slow dropped at idle. while its on ill take of the terminal and the car will die. thats how i determined its a charging issue. i have also installed a push-button for the starter. and if i jump it will will click.

is the exciter wire gettin juice. (little wire that goes to alt)otherwise it would have to be the connection between the bat. and alt or a short. check for continuity between the alt housing and the ground on the battery. could be the ground wire. clean all ground wires and look to make sure the ground strap from the block to the frame is good. if the hot wire went straight to the alt the juice looked for a weaker point which would have to be a ground. could try hooking one side of some jumper cables to the ground on the battery and the alternator housing to make sure its grounded and see if that helps.

i did thaty with a multimeter and it had no resistance. my ground strap goes to the upper part of the firewall to the pass. side head of the motor.

have u changed the wire from the alt to the junction box and (not as likely)the j box to the battery. the heat may have ruined the pressed connection inside the connector at the ends of the wire. happens on the boat were i have to change the alternator wires every three years or so. it gets a connection until the alternator trys to run some juice threw it then fails. i am wondering if theres a fuse in the alt wire. see any fuseable links in the wires?

have u tried having new ends put on your pos. wire from alt to the battery or changing it. like i was saying the heat ruins the connection. the wire inside the connector expands when hot then gets smaller when it cools.
