no idea wut happened
ok my sig car, so my friend had the bright idea to hook my amp cable directly to my alt, and it work until i had moved some wires around and got a phone call and forgot to move my cable from the header and drove off.. so about 10 mins lata my trunk starts smoking and the the rest of the car. so i moved it and everything seemed fine until i try to start it .. no battery. changed alts and still no charge. battery is good cuz it sill holds charge. will charge the battery in the morning and drive for like 15 mins and wont even have a click. i have disconnceted radio and all eltrical accs.need help cant figure it out.

You might check the smaller wire that runs from the battery to the altenator. I can't remember if there is a fuseible link in it or not. But you might have burnt that wire out. So... your saying. You charge it, then it will run for 15min, shut it off and it won't start. Right? If that's the case it sounds like that wire is bad.

Oh.. and you always install a fuse block when installing audio stuff. Just think how much money it would've saved you.
But you should always hook-up any wiring through the battery(or a circuit after the battery)... it will act like a storage tank for electrical energy. When something takes alot away at a given time. It will not affect the rest of the electrical system as bad.

Is the battery warning light on inside the car? My Chilton reads that if the alt is not producing any current... the light will be on. You might take the alt off and get it checked out.?. I've had bad ones before.
Other than that my Chilton manual isn't any help. It doesn't really give me a troubleshooting guide. That one wire is about all I can think of for now.
