Default New to F bodies...

I am getting a low mileage f body soon...either a camaro or a pontiac. My question is, when I go to look at the car, what are the main rust spots, do they have any common leaks and where (power steering, trans, rear?) And what are just some general maintainance things to look for besides the general oil changed, spark plugs, tires, shocks brakes, etc. And is there any solid way of telling if T tops are leaking? Also what year/model has a straight up carb? I dont want the TBI or any of that half and half carb/fuel injection stuff like on my 1990 RS that i had. Right now I have a 2001 mr2 spyder as a DD and a 300 hp turbo supra for the weekends, that Im looking to get rid of, for an f body. And if i cant find an f body i like its at least going to be a G, olds cutlas, monte carlo, etc. Thanks in advance, Joe.

Feedback carbs started in 79 or 80, so if you want a completely computer free setup, you're looking at a second gen, or at least a carb swap on an early third gen, like 85 or older, though some of these came with fuel injection, too.

the most important place to look for rust, is under the doors. for whatever reason most f-bodys and esp. camaros the weather stripping under the doors sucks, and water is prone to get in. also under the car and inside and underneath the wheel well obviously.
