Default Need Tire Suggestion

My '84 Z is in need of new tires. I currently have 235/50/15 BF Goodrich Comp TA's. I could go with something similar to this, but I am curious what other people use/suggest. The car is only driven for pleasure. Thanks in advace.

In a 15" rim, you really can't beat the performance/look of BFG T/A's. There's a reason 3/4 of muscle cars with stock rims run them.

i liked cooper cobra radial gt tires. i found i had good grip in all weather, even decent in light snow, but i handled the abuse of hard launches. it also isnt that expensive, right around $90 a tire. by chance, are your bfg's dry cracked? i see a lot of them that crack badly with half of their life still left

That's because they're OLD. Radial T/A's from 20 years ago with half tread look no different than 2 year old T/A's with half tread, aside from the cracking.

I'm on my second set of Radial T/A's. They're just an all around good tire. Obviously there are better tires out there as the tread design of the BFG's is dated, but trying to gain performance from a 15" rim is a losing battle. My dad's had BFG's on everything he's ever owned. Gone through about 8 sets of BFG A/T's between his old full size Jimmy and Rams. In my opinion they're a little overpriced for an A/T tire, but they do perform well.

Just IMHO

i wasnt talking about age. i work at a toyota dealership, and the trucks come with bfg tires. most are dry cracked within 2 years or 20k miles, and some fail pa inspection because of how severe they are. i wasnt sure if its only their truck tires that do it, or if the car tires do too
