Default need input ?

i have a stock 91 z28 with 350 tpi and auto trans. i'm looking to start modding the car and would like to get around 350 to 400 h.p. at some point, but plan on keeping the a/cand i dont have to worry about emissions. i have limited funds to work with i was going to try to put a few hundred or more at a timeand mod as i go. i would like a plan of attack before i start buying stuff so i have a goal to work towards. i need suggestions on what to start off with exhaust, heads, cam, intake, comp.chip, rear gears, you get the idea. just want to do things in the correct/best order and what brand names are good and what to stay away from. looking for solid fast and reliable street car. also where can i getparts you know best bang for the buck, jeg's,jc whitney, etc.

Default RE: need input ?

well if you want 350-400 horse, its very obtainable with the 350, the only problem is that with any mods you do, you have to get your computer reprogrammed unless you go carb'd and junk the ecm. i would suggest starting from the ground up with the engine, rebuild it, throw so higher compression pistons in it, then cam, heads, intake, exhaust. however if the car is your daily driver, you may just have to go with, heads cam intake and exhaust. that will still put you around 350 horse with a good tune and wont mess with the computer too much. then get little stuff like, ignition, plugs and wires, better rad and cooling fan.
hope this helps
