Default need help. engine wont fit.

i planned on dropping in a 350 into my camaro and when i went to go pur it in, the output shaft isnt lining up just right because my motor mounts are in the way. has anyone ever had this problem? i looked in my haynes manual and it said just line it up and drop it in. my tranny is jacked up all the way but there still isnt enough clearance. i thought dropping my tranny would help to but when i looked in the manual again, the torque arm cant come off unless the rear coils are out or you will mess up the car from flex or something. ANY and i mean ANY ideas will greatly help. this project was supposed to be done a month ago and i keep running into problem after problem. please help. i dont wanna take out the tranny and coils all for droping in an engine.

maybe, you could drill new holes and move the mounts accordingly?

Are you sure you have the right motormounts?
Did a V8 come out of it?

This is in your Z28? So its a 305-350 swap? Then it should go in and have no problem with the mounts. Don't drill new holes! no reason for it. What may be giving you trouble is the torque arm on the tranny and weight on the rear making it bind or hard to move as you line things up. just work at it and don't fget discouraged. It will go. Have a jack with a board under the tranny and if possible tilt the motor as needed.
Also if you have all four wheels off the ground unbolt the torque arm. It may help you. The rear will roll over a little but the shocks will only let it go so far. And the springs will fall out but are easily set back in.

try picking the motor up more by the front to tilt it backwards and slide it into the tranny

the problem is that the back needs to come up more to become even with the tranny. and the tranny is jacked up all the way.
