need help. engine wont fit.
If you still can't get enough movement with the trans, take the motor mount brackets off the block, get the engine all bolted up to the trans, then raise the engine back up and bolt the mount brackets back on. Also, is your trans mount unbolted from the crossmember? Unbolting the mount and the torque arm will help so you can wiggle the trans in place from underneath. And are you sure your clutch disc is lined up well with the pilot bearing? Everything had to be lined up almost perfectly, and the engine and trans has to slide together straight, otherwise getting the input shaft of the trans to mesh with the disc and the pilot is gonna be a P.I.T.A.

How I would do it is to remove the frame motor mount. Motor mounts are designed to be replaced without pulling the motor. They can be tuff to get at but with the right socket setup its a pretty quick job to re-install the motor mounts. As Camaro 69 said you can remoce the engine bracket or you remove the tranny cross member and drop the back of the tranny to allow you trans to point upwards. If you do not have a tranny jack it can be tuff and your engine will need to go in at the same angle your tranny is tilted at.
thanks for the help guys i finally got it in and it runs perfectly. but now i have another problem... my slave cylinder is brand new and its giving me hell. i bleed it properly, and when i step on the clutch, it works fine and has a goodthrow to it. but when i start the engine and let the clutch out its like it wasnt bled in the first place. i step on it all the way and it wont go into gear. then i bleed the slave cyclinder again and it does the same thing again and agian. but heres the weird thing. im not loosing any fluid. theres no leaks[>:]wtf? i need more help please.
