Default need 2.8 to a 350 TBI advice

I have an 84 camaro and im still debating on what engine to put into it. I burned a piston bearing a few months ago and its been sitting in my drive ever since. Rather then pulling the engine ripping out the cam and getting it fixed for something else to go wrong with my engine 2 months(146k miles) im just going to replace it. I got a few jobs racked up some money now im debating if I should stick with the easy to put in 2.8 or go all out and put a 350 TBI. Im just wondering how much money it would cost to put in a 350 crate or 350 rebuilt. Just an idea, and how much a crate 3.4 would be and if the 3.4 is harder to put in then a 2.8(things lineing up right) and im 16 and going to be doing this pretty much by myself, with a garage full of everytool I would ever need.

if you have the green, get a 350. And go carb if you know how. Rebuilds will be cheaper, but then you run the risk of it possibly not being rebuildt correctly. A friend of mine bought a cheap rebuilt 350, lasted about 10k and pretty much self destructed. NICE crate 350's from GM are relatively cheap for the bang. I recomend one of them, but im pretty far down on the knowledge base on this site, so wait and see what others say before you just go and do everything i just said.

depending on which one, i would say, 4k for a pretty base 350 crate, to i think 14k for the new Ls7, lol, but i dont think you wanna do that.

Hey it all depends on what you want, If you want a wicked street car or just a daily driver. I went to www.summitracing.com and went to there Crate engines and this is the first 350 that popped up

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

260hp, with 350ft/lbs of torque. This would be a good motor for a daily driver. You would probably have to go to autozone or even from summit/jegs to get an intake and a Carb which will probably set you back another 500-600bucks.

You will also have to buy a set of headers and get exhaust work done.
