i just bought a 1990 camaro RS with a 350 tbi and i have NO idea where it came from.. i looked it up and the camaros didn't come with a 350tbi only tpi 350's.... So does anyone know how i can find out where this thing is from? i thought about getting the casting numbers and going to the GM dealership, but they say they cant look up the numbers anymore. Their systems work in the opposite order......

 

unless thats a swaped 350, its a 305 tbi. Youll need to find the casting number and look it up. Thats the only way to know for sure

 

There should be numbers on the Deck just above the water pump next to the head. There are many sites that can decode them. Once you get them just post them here. Someone will hook you up.

 

Or you could pull off the heads and measure the bore.

An easy way to tell is to look at the harmonic balancer. 305's had thicker ones while 350's had thinner ones.

 

There were 350 RS but they are the police package (B4C). Does it have 4 wheel disc, dual cats, engine oil cooler, 145 speedo?

 

Sorry i didnt check this earlyer but i spent most of the night removing the EGR valve sealing it off and replacing the spark plugs hopefully fixing my idle problem haha. but yes sorry i didnt include that it is a swap from maybe a GM suburban or a pickup thats all that i know that came with a 350tbi...
