you would need to hook it up to a sofisticated diagnostic machine and have the grams per second read to make sure. thats going to cost about $60 minimum at a shop. just find one at a junkyard and test it out. if it corrects the issue, then youre golden. if not, you can start looking over the wiring harness or take it to a shop. before doing either, check the wiring where it goes over the belt. i have seen them come loose and have rubbed through the wires by touching the belt
So i grabbed a MAF from the junkyard (only 16 bucks, compared to a new one which is what, 150?)
swapped it out, seems the problem is fixed. need to drive it more to be sure. but it hasnt happened since the swap.
