It’s a ton of work, not worth it. For what you could sale the TPI for you could by a junk yard 6.0 or a 5.3 LS engine. Even though the 6.0/5.3 are basically the same as a LS1 going from a 3800 to an LS1 is a pretty big project and it can get pretty pricy because of the amount of parts that will be need to make everything work. I will look for a link that shows the parts needed to switch 3800 and V8 LS motor. If you are doing this to save money you are heading down the wrong path.
There is no guide on how to make a TPI Gen one block work. You might as well ask how to install a 69 ford 302. There is so much that need fabricated and rewires and replaced, there are a 100 ways to do it. All depend on your skill and budget.
This will give you an idea of parts needed just to switch from a 3800 to a LS V8 type motor.

Welcome, Robin, to the club.
As Gorn suggests, not worth the time/investment, unless your pockets are deep and time is on your side.
It can be done, but, if you would like a V8 Gen IV Camaro, buy one and sell the Gen III..
