You're definitely going to have to make some changes. I can't help you regarding the transmission question, but in reference to the V6, you're going to need new motor mounts for the V8.

i was hoping that i would be able to just move the existing motor mounts on the frame, to work with the 350, but u say i need different mounts on the frame all together? just to clarify i'm talking the mounts on the frame, not the ones on the motor. i'm turning an 87 camaro into a stock car, so i think i'm going to run into some fabricating along the way. car is completely gutted out. i'll post some pictures when it's more near done. working on putting the roll cage in right now. got a 350 with 1968 fuelie heads 462 castings, quadrajet flat top pistons 350 horse 327 camshaft. i'm actually running a powerglide tranny, but measurements and mount is the same as a turbo 350. would really like to find out about tranny crossmember, that looks like my biggest obstacle at this point, any info would help

You are going to discover a whole lot of little things you need, not just motor mounts. You may have to relocate a lot of accesories and need new hoses, belts, etc. You will need a new exhaust, maybe a new transmission cross member and mount, maybe a new driveshaft. Its much simpler because since it is gutted you can sort of improvise. Good luck.

is there another crossmember i can get to work with the turbo350 or glide, or will i have to fabricate the old one? i guess what i'm asking is are the later model automatics that came in the camaro the same measurements and mount as the turbo 350, if they are i can just use the crossmember out of an automatic f body. i already have belts, hoses, etc... that i'm going to use and adapt to this car from the monte carlo. it's really a pretty cool project, i think u guys will like it when i get some pictures up. last year at the track for the first time someone showed up with an f body, and just smoked the monte carlos, these things really handle awesome. so hey, if u can't beat em join em, right?
