Default Metric Temperature Gauge

I have a 1990 Camaro and it has a temperature gauge that reads in metric numbers. Was this standard on 90 model cars?

If your from Europe I would think so. Is the steering wheel on the left or right side?

Is the first number of the VIN 1 or 2. This means USA(1) or Canada(2) factory. and I think those canadians use the metric system. haha... metric

Why the heck would any one want to buy that car if they can not raed the temp gauge? And is the temp the only metric gauge? Did you replace the gauge with one you bought off an ebayer in Canada?

The odometer registers in kilometers. The speedometer has the Kilos per hour in big numbers and the miles per hour in little numbers. The volt meters reads normal, I guess there isn't a metric equivelant for volts. Also the car is a 1990 but has a 2.8 engine which supposedly wasn't used in 90 models. The info stickers on the hood list the engine as a 2.8 also. Maybe the hood and engine were changed. But that doesn't explain the metric gauges. The Vin number says it was made in Van Nuys, CA. And on the ground effects where the RS stickers are usually at, it just says Camaro with a little bowtie. Looks like original stickers though. Really weird combination of things for one car. Maybe it was shipped to Canada and found its way back to the States. Would be nice to know though. Any Camaro experts out there?

Do you have an emission sticker under the hood? Does it say "US E.P.A., Federal, California..."?
