MAF
Have an 89 IROC with the 350, automatic, fuel injected. I have a question about the MAF. It has two bolt or screw openings on the top that have nothing attached to them, as well as a question about if it is suppose to be inserted into the flexible Air Intake duct that connects to the Duel Air Filter connector versus just sitting there and just clamped on??
You can view this link: http://www.tomco-inc.com/Catalog/maf%20sensors.pdf
It is figure 6 at the bottom of that page. I can see the two bolt or screw holes, but have no idea what or if something is suppose to be attached there??

RE: MAF
It does not matter too much where it is connected, but all the air has to go through it. If it is connected near the air filter, where the air is cooler, the engine will run a little richer, if it near the throttle body it will run a little leaner. Has to do with the air going past the heated wire in the MAF. The cooler the wire, more air rushing in to cool it, the richer the mixture.
