Default LS swap in 88 RS?

I just bought a '88 V6 RS, and once i'm done beefing it up on the esthetic side, i want to do an engine swap. Now i'm not a guy with alot of money or mechanical expertise, but i do know alot of people who do that kind of stuff. I want to know if it's possible and worth the trouble to swap the 2.8L for a Chevy LS4 from a Monte Carlo or even a Corvertte LS.

The LS4 is designed to be mounted sideways and is not a good candidate for your project. Stick to the other LS type engines. However; your job would be a lot simpler if you just used a regular small block, and they can make a ton of power if done right.

i agree with pete, a mid 70's small block, with .030" overbore, high compression pistions, good heads cam intake and exhaust with a decent sized carb and a good tune, you'll be looking at around 375-400 horse. and the best thing is, THEY ARE CHEAP! (oh and for the love of all things GM, get a 4 bolt main)
