Location of temp sending unit

Ok I have an 86 Z28 with the 305. My tempo gauge doesn't work so i bought a Temp gauge from advance auto. I know I have 3 sending units on my engine but which one would be best for the gauge probe to go in? The directions say to put it in the factory warning light sender location???? Anyone done this before?
