Default Keyless Entry/Theft

My first question is did keyless entry/anti theft system ever come as an option on a 1989 camaro RS? I have keyless entry by "Pursuit" and there's an security system installed with wires and all kinds of crap spliced into other wires running underneath my steering column.

In some ways it looks professional, but in other ways it doesn't. For example, the box is held in by zipties. Kinda aftermarket looking. I wanna get it out because I have a feeling thats the reason my car won't start randomly. Only names I can find on the box or anything are AUDIOVOX. Made in Taiwan. PRO 9146A.

It's quite messy with all the wiring. There's even a white wire coming from the box that looks like it was charred and burnt off of what it's supposed to be connected to just hanging loose... I have no idea what's going on and I need to take care of it. Any ideas?

Kinda under a time crunch, gotta get it taken care of by tomorrow morning [:'(]

Yeah thats aftermarket. Not factory. Get rid of it. I have taken out many alarms that would leave people starnded at various times but never while I would test drive. (go figure)
I had a friend that spend some $800+/- dollars on an alarm for a $300 (being generous) ford van. That thing always crapped out on him and left him stranded some where.

I hate after market alarms. All they are good for is to leave the car stranded, and make noise for no apparent reason. Gladmost of themgot banned in NYC.

WhatI hate worse are the people that have them, know they have them, and still open the door every freakin time with the MF armed!
