Wondering if anyone can help me....My knowledge for cars is pretty weak....I wanted to use this car to expand my knowledge. Its in really good shape. How do I maintain it...and how can I improve it. The old owner stated the car needed a radiator cap and possibly the radiator to be flushed. Also said the breaks needed to be bled. The heat in Vegas is about 110 degrees now. How can I make sure the car wont over heat?

 

Flush the radiator and replace the cap.. then make sure some where around 220 degrees your fan kicks on, and just watch to make sure the temp doesnt spike too high. No need to do much more until you have a problem

 

Great car (best one ever,IMO), congrats on the aquisation. What engine do you have? any other problems, or is that it? If you're looking to learn more about mods and whatnot, Thirdgen.org is a great place to start. They have plenty of tech articles with tons of the common mods.

 

So far, from the research that I've done...the engine is the low output" 305in³/ 5.0L. What that means, Im not sure.. But I gave my brother the Vin number and he was able to find that for me. But the guy who sold it to me said that was all that was wrong with it. Just the Radiator cap and for it to be flushed. Everything else is good.The guy works for NASCAR and builds cars for them. He put a lot of work in the car and had just installed"Flow Master" exhaust, had the tranny worked on and the interior is near perfect. You think you can give me some basic info on the engine and how to maintain it...or direct me on where I can find it. Also, what would you recommend I add to the car..to make it faster. Whatever info you have..I would appreciate it.....this is the car I want to work onand makeit top notch. But im starting from scratch 'cuz im new to this...
